My past week on Instagram in a nice little bite-size frame. Follow me here.
Summer is here (although the grey clouds and low temperatures here in England suggest otherwise) which means it’s time to revamp our Winter wardrobes – If you live in most other countries you would’ve done this months ago, but this is the land where Spring and Autumn do not exist; the months simply seem to have no definition. Below are my top picks for Spring and Summer – I am absolutely loving the new collection from & Other Stories, I want every single piece!
Can you believe it’s already 5 days into May? I was just getting used to the idea of April and then May came along and punched me in the face. Almost half way through the year and I feel older by the second. I moved home from uni this week and after much (and I really mean much) effort in packing two cars full of my belongings, I came back home where I realised nothing had a place in my room anymore. My clothes had nowhere to go, my shoes were lined up around the edge of the room and the makeup…. Ah the makeup. Makeup is my weakness, my guilty pleasure. No matter how many times my mum will try to convince me otherwise, there is always a need for nine shades of red lipstick right? Right?!
Having grossly misjudged my hoarding capabilities, I finally decided to sort out my
(life) makeup once and for all, the results of which are shown below. All I can say is, all hail Muji and Home Sense.
I’ve been on a break from unit for the past two weeks and of course I have spent much of my free time on my beloved Pinterest (follow me here). I have decided to show you some of my favourite minimalist interiors. It’s funny how a “minimalist” look can look like it took so much time and planning to create.
Okay so ‘leopard and fur’ might be a tad misleading. When I hear those two scary-sounding adjectives I think of Teresa Guidice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But of course I have impeccable taste and wouldn’t be seen dead in anything less than covetable…
So anyway, my jeans are from H&M, and the furry trainers are from
Topshop. I jumped on the slip-on sneaker bandwagon, finally, after deciding I have no comfortable shoes which are attractive enough to be seen out of the house with.
even though I have three pairs of Converse and multiple other flats that are stylish and comfortable, but they’re not new so they don’t count okay?
Word to the wise, the jeans come up tiny so be warned that you will need to get them in a size or two bigger than you usually would be. Only a 4 year-old would get their arse into a UK 6 in those.
I spent my Sunday taking photos in the countryside while the weather stayed (relatively) decent. The rape seed is showing it’s face, much to my hayfever-prone mother’s dismay, and it makes for some pretty spring-time photos! I also went stalking the pretty cottages in the surrounding villages because hey, why not?
I am currently studying Fashion Journalism at uni and we were recently given an assignment to make a 3-minute film on anything we wanted. A first this idea seemed daunting as it meant actually thinking of something to create the film on, being given such a broad subject can actually be harder than you first think… As a group, we decided to create our film around TV chef and artist Sue Kreitzman, who was also one of the stars from the hugely successful Channel 4 documentary “Fabulous Fashionistas”, whose colourful aesthetic and equally as bright personality made our film a joy to create. There is a link at the bottom of this post for you to view the film!
We met Sue at her exhibition in Cult Mountain, Bethnal Green just before she was due to go back to New York, to talk to her about her life, her work and her philosophies. She is such a wonderful character and it is a joy to have worked with her. Below are photos from around the gallery, which is unfortunately no longer exhibiting Sue’s work.
Here is the link to view the film, let us know what you think, we would love your feedback!
As I sit here in my tiny, cramped room at uni, surrounded by paperwork, chargers, leads, pens, makeup and everything else that can’t seem to make space for; I scroll through my Pinterest feed and see tons of amazing, organised and fresh-looking desks and workspaces in which I dream of requiring.
