“You can be the most beautiful person in the world and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you, but if you yourself don’t know it, all of that doesn’t even matter. Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself; is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It’s not like you have forever, so don’t waste any of your seconds, don’t throw even one of your moments away.”

If there’s one thing I’ve taken from today, it’s that life is too short for any level of regrets. Life’s too short to say “no”. Life’s too short to hold back. Life’s too short to wonder “what if”. Please hug your loved ones today and tell them how much they mean to you.
So my blog has undergone a makeover by my talented brother, Callum. After much begging (and probably nagging) on my part, he finally agreed to help me “re-do” my blog (with the promise of me buying him some new jeans…). As much as I liked the old theme, Chunk, I was getting a little tired of the font and wanted something a little more girly and not as clean cut as the previous look. I decided on the theme “Pachyderm”, with my brother completely recreating the aestetic with my own Vogue-style header and uber-sophisticated veiny leaves.
Let me know what you think of my new theme, do you like it?
I’ve used nail polishes by Essie for a while now and I’m in love with them! They last for ages, almost a whole week; the colours always seem to be true (they always come out on the nail exactly as they look in the bottle); they dry pretty quickly and they’re very easy to apply, not too thin or goopy. Not to mention their array of colours is faaaaaabulous! Last week I bought two new nail polishes from Essie, Aruba Blue and Fiji. I’ve been looking for a cobalt/electric blue hue for a while, similar to the Nails inc. Baker Street one that Beyonce has sported recently, mostly likely in honour of her daughter Blue Ivy..
I wanted a blue similar to this and found Aruba Blue at Essie, which is a cobalt blue with pearly undertones in it, I think it’s flattering on my skin tone. I took a photo here of it on my nails so I can give a fair account of how it looked on my skin.
I really love this colour! I think it will look great in both summer and winter and looks great on toes too.
The other nail polish I bought from Essie was Fiji. I’ve heard lots of people praising this one up on YouTube so I thought I’d buy it and see what I thought. It is a very light pinky/milky colour that is both modern and super easy to wear, goes with everything and I know this may sound strange to some of you (others that are into nail polishes will know what I’m talking about) but I feel this polish makes my hands look cleaner… Haha okay that does sound crazy written down and I promise that my hands are always clean anyway but some polishes can make your hands look kind of murky or… dead. And this one just brightens up my hands.. Kind of like a highlight for your hands or something.
I can’t wait to wear this colour on holiday, I think it’ll look amazing with a tan!
If you follow me on Instagram (if not, WHY NOT? You’re seriously missing out… @_hannahstocking) you’ll know that I posted a slightly stalkerish photo of a woman I saw in Homebase the other day looking absolutely FAB-U-LOUS. She was who I want to be in the future, impeccably dressed, ever so glam but with an air of “Oh this old thing? I just threw it on!” about her and I love it! She wore everything she had on, nothing wore her which is what I loved about it, she definitely seemed to have her own refined style. (pic below)
Anyway, I loved what she was wearing so much that I decided I wanted a mac like hers… I have a sneaky suspicion that hers is from Zara, although the way she carries it off it could easily be Aquascutum. Now, I actually already have a mac in the slightly darker tone like hers (I keep saying “hers” and feel rude that I’m not using a name… But then I’d feel weird making one up, non?) but I really love the style of it. It’s more effortless than my more tailored one, more “thrown on, but look how chic I am” one. Soooooooo…. Thanks to my wonderful friend Zara (the shop, I don’t actually have a friend called Zara) I’ve found one! I still need to somehow figure out a way to justify buying it, but I’m sure it won’t be long before I can think of a good enough reason. After all, I have no self control when it comes to spending money which should be saved…
Looking at both macs closer, the Zara one looks a LOT like the lovely Homebase lady’s one doesn’t it? I wish I could see the pockets on her one though… The mac does come in a darker shade exactly like hers but I think I prefer the lighter one in this style.
So who knows if I’ll end up buying it, *cough* it’s-my-birthday-on-the-26th-June *cough-cough-cough*. Ooh I seem to have a tickly throat… I shall keep you posted!
